His patronymic name is Desmond!? DESMOND!? That is NOT how Slavic names work.

Slavic names do NOT work like western names. Slavic names work like this:
“First name” , “Father’s first name + suffix” + “Last name”
So, say Ivan’s father is also named Ivan. His full name would be “Ivan Ivanovich Braginsky.” This OC’s name would be something like “Dimitriy Ivanovich Braginksy.” His patronymic name, much like anyone else’s patronymic name, would be his father’s first name.

Real Age: 90. It was 21 years ago that the Soviet Union ended. The Soviet Union lasted 69 years. So 21+69= 90 years old. { 1922-1991 }
Why is the Soviet Union not personified as the nations that comprised the Soviet Union. That is so illogical. The Soviet Union was just that, and it was comprised of several different nations with different cultures. 
The Soviet Union, contrary to popular belief, was NOT just Russia. Yes, Russia was where the power was seated, but the USSR was NOT just Russia, and to say that it was is just ignorant, and shows that this person did not do her research.

No, Dimitry resembles Ivan so much because you like Russia/Prussia, but simply RPing isn’t enough for you. You want to BE Russia, except take away all of the icky things you don’t like.
And he wouldn’t even be alternate universe. HE WOULD BE RUSSIA. Unless Russia and Soviet Russia ended up like the PRC and Taiwan, but China only recognizes that there is one China, so Soviet Russia would probably act the same.
And why the hell are his eyes red!? Violet is crazy enough in canon, but violet red? Is it because he’s a “ZOMBG COMMIEEE!!!!1!q1?” That’s a stupid reason to have red eyes!
ALTERNATIVE NAMES:
Comrade, Soviet, Desmond, Dmitry, Dimi, Dmi.
Comrade would be used for anyone except for prisoners during the Soviet Era. Soviet is just stupid. And Dimi and Dmi are NOT shortened versions of Dimitry. “Dima” is a shortened version of Dimitry. But NOT Dimi.

If you did, then you wouldn’t have made this OC in the first place, because it is EXTREMELY illogical BECAUSE THE SOVIET UNION WAS COMPRISED OF NATIONS AND THE SOVIET RUSSIA IS RUSSIA AND JFLSDJ I’M GOING TO HAVE AN ANEURYSM BY THE TIME I’M DONE WITH THIS FLJSLD

This picture also represents another smaller situation between those two (and a couple other friends).
East and West Germany reunited in November 1989.
Why is Prussia leaving Russia, oh, I’M SORRY, THE SOVIET UNION with the collapse of the Soviet Union if he would have already reunited with Germany by then?
The background is obviously half-assed. I can’t make backgrounds to save my life.

Ah also, this is the first time I’ve drawn him without his gloves. Like I’ve previously stated in a journal, the scars on his hands represent wars, treaties and alliances lost. Of course, there’d be more scars. :U

I apologize if anyone takes offense to this picture. I don’t even know if talking about the dissolution of the Soviet Union is even something to get offended with, but you never know. People seem to take offense to a lot of things these days. :I
I’m not offended that you tried to be historical and make an interpretation of the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

So basically… just as a little fun thing… this is his Halloween costume (cause I’m going as the 10th Doctor) ;w; ]]

For one, this Soviet Union/Russia recolour is nothing like Eleven, from what I can tell from his scanty personality profile. And a Soviet Union/Soviet Russia wouldn’t be. A lot of human rights abuses occurred in the Soviet Union, and the Soviet regime was known for trying to revise and manipulate history into something that would make them look better. If anything, he’d be more like Nine, since Nine was so broken after the Time Wars, but even then, Nine being the Soviet Union/Soviet Russia/a Russia recolour is a big, big, BIG stretch.

But maybe I’m wrong, maybe this is actually Russia. In which case, that would be slightly better, considering that he did have a dark past, but he is still positive, as interpreted in canon…

But technically Soviet Russia is just Russia in the previous years. Mr.Himuruya did say so, but he calls him Russia because the Katakana is easier.

Well, there goes that hope.
Honestly, the worst thing about this OC is that the person claims to have done her research. If she did do her research, then I would have probably overlooked or been less angry about the fact that he looks quite similar to Ivan. I have a good friend who has a Hetalia OC, and he looks very similar to Ivan, but she’s working on making him look less like Ivan. And she has done her research. She’s been researching for years on her OC.

But this OC…no matter what the OC creator claims, I cannot fathom it as having been researched. Or if there were research done, it was very minimal.
And that’s sad, considering the time period the OC creator is focusing on.
